Mercury DC-20-2000 Ultra D.C. Burnisher – 20" High-Speed Floor Polisher at 2000 RPM

The DC-20-2000 splits the difference between Mercury's 19" and 21" burnishers in coverage, running the same 1.5 HP D/C rectified motor at 2000 RPM across all three sizes. The 20" apron fits in the same footprint as many standard floor machines, which can make it easier to work in spaces where the 21" is slightly too wide. The front caster assembly controls pad pressure, the polished aluminum chassis adds machine weight for better pad-to-floor contact, and full-wrap non-marking bumpers protect walls and baseboards during passes near obstacles.

DC-20-2000 Motor, Pad Pressure, and Chassis

  • Motor: 1.5 HP D/C rectified, 15 Amp — same motor as the DC-19-2000 and DC-21-2000
  • Speed: 2000 RPM — high-speed burnishing range for gloss restoration
  • Apron size: 20" polished aluminum with full-wrap non-marking bumpers
  • Pad pressure: front caster assembly with flexible pad holder — maintains even pad contact on irregular floors
  • Chassis: polished aluminum — structural weight improves pad seating and finish result
  • Operating wheels: 6" non-marking; transport wheels: 4" non-marking
  • Power cord: 50-ft. 14/3-gauge safety cord, handle-base connection
  • Machine weight: 84 lbs.

Where the DC-20-2000 Gets Used

The DC-20-2000 suits mid-size commercial floor areas — office building corridors, retail floor maintenance, school hallways, and hospital common areas where a 21" machine would occasionally catch on doorframe trim or tight turns. At 2000 RPM, it burnishes VCT, sealed concrete, and linoleum flooring to a high gloss through friction heat, re-spreading floor finish polymers without chemical application. The 20" pad generates enough surface contact to finish most commercial floor areas efficiently while remaining more maneuverable than the DC-21-2000.

Pro Application Details for the DC-20-2000

At 2000 RPM, use white, tan, or natural fiber burnishing pads only. The front caster assembly is critical to gloss quality — if the pad lifts off the floor at the front edge, you will see streaks on VCT. The flexible pad holder and threaded centering device keep the pad seated uniformly. The DC-20-2000 and DC-21-2000 share the same motor and speed; choosing between them is a coverage-versus-maneuverability decision. The 50-ft. cord length is sufficient for corridors and open areas; for very large spaces, extension cord use should be limited to heavy-gauge (12 AWG or better) cords to avoid voltage drop at 2000 RPM load.
